
Auckland is the place to invest, work and live
· New Zealand is ranked as the second easiest place in the world to do business (amongst 181 countries), says the 2009 World Bank survey of business-friendly countries. Starting a business in New Zealand takes only three days. New Zealand's stable political system guarantees a safe environment for businesses and makes New Zealand the most peaceful country in the world, according to Global Peace Index 2009.
· Auckland offers you a high-level, educated labour force, and about 30 per cent of Auckland city’s adult residents have a Bachelor degree or higher.
· Almost all of the 1.4 million inhabitants of the Auckland Region can reach the city centre within an hour.

· A Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM)-study named Auckland as the most entrepreneurial city in 2008. The proportion of entrepreneurs between 18 and 65 years is 13.5 per cent; this is the highest percentage amongst 27 OECD-cities.
· Salary costs are very competitive – typically 40 per cent less than in the USA and 20-30 per cent lower than in Australia. Mercer calls New Zealand cities “extremely cost competitive destinations for global workers compared to […] Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Osaka”.

· Doing business in Auckland means enjoying the city’s unique lifestyle and making the most of life. Auckland is internationally recognised as an excellent city and features in the annual William W. Mercer Worldwide Quality of Life Survey. In 2009, Auckland was ranked the fourth best city in the world to live in.

· Following the trend in New Zealand, Auckland’s population grew by 10 per cent between 2001 and 2006. Currently, some 1.4 million people are living in the Auckland region and projections estimate the region reaching 2 million in the early 2030’s.
· Based on figures from 2007 to 2008, new office space with a value of more than NZ$ 200 million is built each year in the CBD of Auckland, and modern office space rentals in A-grade-buildings are amongst the lowest in the developed world.
